We are excited to report that the elevator at the Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum has been repaired, after a prolonged period out of service. The timing is terrific, as the summer visiting season is just beginning. An expensive custom part (seen in the image above) was required to complete the work, which necessitated an emergency $92,000 fundraising campaign– a major challenge during a pandemic!
Our warmest thanks to Lee Initiatives, GBU Life Members in Action, CTC Foundation, and the dozens of businesses and individuals who donated to help make this possible. We are also grateful to our patrons and supporters for their patience during this trying period.
In addition, the Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum is now open Wednesdays, so its operating schedule matches that of the Johnstown Flood Museum: 10:00 am-5:00 pm Wed., Thurs., Fri., and Sat.; and noon-5:00 pm Sun.
