The Johnstown Flood Museum and Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum are currently operating on a winter schedule: open Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, Sunday noon-5:00 pm; and closed Tuesday and Wednesday. We will update this alert ribbon (and, in the instance of longer closures, the Heritage Johnstown Facebook Page) if either or both museums are closed due to severe weather.

Beginning May 1, we will resume visitor season operating hours of open all days except Tuesday.

Summer Science Series to launch

Join JAHA and Dr. Matt of UPJ for a more in depth look at the science concepts in the Johnstown Children’s Museum through demonstrations and hands on experiments. Each class will provide children with a take home!

We’ll meet in the education room at the museum, with trips to the museum as necessary. Cost is $3 for JAHA members, $5 for non-members.

All classes will meet at 1:00 pm. Currently, the schedule is:

  • July 24: Weather & Water
  • August 5: Plants
  • August 14: Healthy Foods & Food Science
  • August 19: Rocks, Fossils & Mountains
