Due to an interior water leak on 1/23/25 caused by the recent extreme cold, the Johnstown Flood Museum ONLY is temporarily closed. Thankfully, nothing of historic significance was affected. As of 2/4, the water remediation team has concluded their work, and we are moving on to repainting, floor refinishing, and replacement of carpet and soundproofing materials. We fully expect to reopen by early spring. In the meantime, we apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to remediate and repair our beloved flagship museum.

The Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum is unaffected and operating normal business hours. Welcome!

Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center to coordinate lighting colors with the Stone Bridge

The Johnstown Area Heritage Association and The Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center today announced that the lights on the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center will coordinate with the Stone Bridge lights.

Dustin Greene of Top Dog Productions, which co-manages the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center, is a longtime volunteer on the Stone Bridge Lighting Project. In particular, he regularly contributes technical expertise and time when the bridge lights need repairs. Top Dog Productions also set up the bridge’s live webcam, which makes it possible for people all over the world to enjoy the bridge lights from YouTube or JAHA’s website.

“The Stone Bridge and the conference center bracket downtown, and you’ll see both when you’re coming in or out of the city,” said Shelley Johansson of JAHA. “So when Dustin Greene of Top Dog Productions came to us with this idea, we thought it was fantastic – especially since Dustin and I have worked together on the bridge for years.”

Greene and Johansson note that occasionally the lights might not match due to events at the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center or Peoples Natural Gas Park.

“At first, our company lit the front pillars, parking canopy, and the tower of the Conference Center just to dress up the building,” Greene said. “A few days later I was driving along Route 56 into the city, and then along Roosevelt Boulevard (Route 56) out of the city, and it occurred to me that matching would be a great aspect for people to see both coming in and out of the city,” Greene said.

A fundraising campaign for the perpetuation of the Stone Bridge Lighting Project continues. Tax deductible donations to support the project can be made payable to the “Stone Bridge Lights Maintenance Fund” and sent to the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, 216 Franklin Street Suite 400, Johnstown, PA, 15901, or you can donate securely online.
