The Johnstown Flood Museum and Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum are currently operating on a winter schedule: open Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, Sunday noon-5:00 pm; and closed Tuesday and Wednesday. We will update this alert ribbon (and, in the instance of longer closures, the Heritage Johnstown Facebook Page) if either or both museums are closed due to severe weather.

Beginning May 1, we will resume visitor season operating hours of open all days except Tuesday.

The Worldwide Day of Play is a chance to turn screentime into playtime! As a day dedicated to experiencing joyful learning through play, this event is focused on getting kids and their families up, out, and playing around.

This free admission day at the Johnstown Children’s Museum is a great time to come for all your favorite museum activities plus new additions for the day! Learn Spanish with Dora, go jellyfishing, be your own superhero and more!

Our World: Worldwide Day of Play is part of Nickelodeon’s Our World global initiative to inspire kids and provide them with tools to activate their individual and collective agency. As part of a network of more than 360 Association of Children’s Museums, member children’s museums who reach millions of families in North America, and the over 1,450 museums participating in Museums for All (a national access initiative that ACM manages), Heritage Johnstown is a vital collaborator in the Our World: Worldwide Day of Play!
