The Johnstown Flood Museum and Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum are currently operating on a winter schedule: open Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, Sunday noon-5:00 pm; and closed Tuesday and Wednesday. We will update this alert ribbon (and, in the instance of longer closures, the Heritage Johnstown Facebook Page) if either or both museums are closed due to severe winter weather. By popular demand! Heritage Johnstown will open the beautifully decorated Johnstown Train Station for a Pop-Up Holiday Shop from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, during the Christmas Market at Peoples Natural Gas Park. Come by to enjoy the beautiful seasonal decorations in this spectacular building before renovations begin in 2026.

An installation of historic PRR model trains will be running, courtesy of Rick Truscello! We’ll offer free holiday crafts for kids, and a shop featuring a selection of Johnstown Christmas ornaments, small toys, Heritage Johnstown memberships (on sale during December!) and other gifts. We invite you to drop by, take pictures, enjoy the model train, and shop a bit. Welcome!
