Due to an interior water leak on 1/23/25 caused by the recent extreme cold, the Johnstown Flood Museum ONLY is temporarily closed. Thankfully, nothing of historic significance was affected. As of 2/4, the water remediation team has concluded their work, and we are moving on to repainting, floor refinishing, and replacement of carpet and soundproofing materials. We fully expect to reopen by early spring. In the meantime, we apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to remediate and repair our beloved flagship museum.

The Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum is unaffected and operating normal business hours. Welcome!

Packet Pick-Up

All packet pick-up will take place at Peoples Natural Gas Park, where the race finishes. You may have someone else pick up your packet for you, but you will need to provide them with your confirmation printout or a note signed by you giving them permission to do so.

Dates and times are as follows:

  • Day One: Thursday, May 23, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Day Two: Friday, May 24, 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Race Day

  • 5:30 am to 7:00 am: In-person registration for 5K ONLY, along with last-minute packet pickup at Peoples Natural Gas Park
  • 6:00 am – 7:20 am (Last bus at 7:20) – 8 miler and 14 miler shuttle bus pickup (parking lot)
  • 6:45 am – 7:30 am (Last bus at 7:30) – 5K shuttle bus pickup (parking lot)
  • 7:00 am – 7:50 am – Rolling start. All three distances will utilize chip timing, so runners who prefer to socially distance do not need to wait for an 8:00 start.
  • 8:00 am – Group start. Timing mats rolled up immediately following.
  • All times and awards will be announced on the website and POTF Facebook Page within 24 hours.

Re-Live History and Explore the Trails

In preparation for Race Day, read up on the history of the historic 1889 Johnstown Flood, and learn more about the Path of the Flood Trail and other local trails.

Runners are asked to wear BLUE or GREEN for race day to simulate water.
