Due to an interior water leak on 1/23/25 caused by extreme cold, the Johnstown Flood Museum ONLY is temporarily closed. Thankfully, nothing of historic significance was affected. The water remediation team concluded their work, which leaves repainting, floor refinishing, and replacement of carpet and soundproofing materials. We are currently waiting for insurance adjustors and approval of quotes, a process we cannot control. In the meantime, we apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to remediate and repair our beloved flagship museum.

In the meantime, we are pleased to present Relic Tales of the Johnstown Floods at the Heritage Discovery Center, which is unaffected and operating normal business hours. This new temporary exhibition includes more than 200 artifacts and photographs, many of which have never been on display before, from the Johnstown flood of 1889 (as well as 1936 and 1977).  Welcome!

7:00 PM

Location

90 Johns St.
Johnstown, PA

The third and final in the three-show free concert series made possible by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield!

HABATAT: Veterans of the festival and live music circuit in Pittsburgh and the surrounding tri-state area, the funk-rock group, HABATAT, have shared stages with The Soul Rebels, Pink Talking Fish, Twiddle, The Heavy Pets, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and Joe Lewis Walker, among others.

Born in early 2012, HABATAT released its first EP in 2015, the self-titled “HABATAT,” which was followed by “HOMESTEAD” in 2018.

HABATAT carries the flashy vibes of some of the legendary funk bands, like Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears. The group has been described as “Allman Brothers with horns,” a testimony to their pocket grooves, soaring guitar solos, tight horn lines, and powerful vocals. There is no doubt that HABATAT sets the footprint for the groove.

FLOWERCHILD: Hailing from the Laurel Highlands of PA, FLOWERCHILD got their start in the late summer of 1994 and will be celebrating their 30 years together here in Johnstown where it all began. Drawing their inspiration from the improv/jam/funk music of the 60′ and 70’s, FLOWERCHILD continue to bring the fire and good times with the passion they have become known for.

Island Cuisine will be vending, and there will be a full bar — please bring your ID if you intend to enjoy alcoholic beverages.

Schedule for the evening is as follows:

6:00 pm: gates open
7:00 pm: HABATAT
9:00 pm: FLOWERCHILD
