Presented by the American Association of University Women and Heritage Johnstown! In this presentation, Dr. Paul D. Newman will explore the roles played in the Revolution by a variety of American women: Revolutionaries and Loyalists; elites, working class, and farm women; free and enslaved; camp followers and retainers to the army; Indigenous, Black, and white; English and non-English speaking.
Dr. Newman is a professor of early American history at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where he has taught classes on colonial America, the American Revolution, and race and gender since 1995.
Doors at 6:00 pm, with the lecture beginning at 6:30 pm. Free and open to the public.
