Special Projects: Southmont Centennial

Fall/winter hours begin 9/15: closed Tues-Wed, open all other days

As of September 15 the Johnstown Flood Museum and Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum are moving to fall/winter hours: open Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, Sunday noon-5:00 pm; and closed Tuesday-Wednesday.

We will update this alert ribbon (and, in the instance of longer closures, the Heritage Johnstown Facebook Page) if either or both museums are closed due to severe weather (which can include heat).

Southmont celebrated its centennial in 2019.

The historic Johnstown neighborhood of Southmont celebrated its centennial in 2019. Heritage Johnstown (then known as the Johnstown Area Heritage Association) assisted the borough with the celebration, developing this website to highlight Southmont’s rich history.
