JAHA is delighted to announce a full slate of walking tours exploring the history of the 1889 flood in Johnstown! All tours are conducted by Nick Wukovich, who has studied the disaster extensively through first-person accounts of survivors. He’ll point out flood-surviving buildings and historical areas, share photographs, and tell stories. Everyone who takes these tours rave about them!
The “upper town” tour covers the downtown area, and involves about two miles of walking. The “lower town” tour is from Walnut Street to the Stone Bridge, and is about a mile and a half.
The complete tour schedule is set as follows (tours will appear in the events feed about a month before they happen). All tours leave from the Johnstown Flood Museum. Cost is $5, or $3 with museum admission.
